Samuel Nuuyoma

Samuel Sheefeni Nuuyoma (born February 17, 1951 in South West Africa ) is a Namibian politician of the SWAPO and diplomat . He was governor of the Erongo region from 1999 to 2010 . Nuuyoma has been Namibia's ambassador to Brazil since January 26, 2016 .

Nuuyoma holds degrees in Economics (1997) from the South Africa Institute of Commerce and Administration in South Africa , a Teaching Diploma (1990) from Moray House College of Education in Scotland, and Teaching Certificates (1989 and 1988, respectively) from Selly Oak College of Education and Bell College from England .

He joined SWAPO in 1973, was secretary of the SYL youth league from 1977 to 1981 and then party secretary in the office in Swakopmund until 1984 . Nuuyoma was SWAPO treasurer there until 1989 and regional administrator of SWAPO in the Erongo region. From 1998 to 1999 Nuuyoma was mayor of Swakopmund .
