San Agustín is a town in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
San Agustín is the fifth largest town in the canton of Arapata in the municipality of Coripata in the province of Nor Yungas . The village is located at an altitude of 1604 m above the right, northern bank of the Río San Agustín, a right tributary of the Río San Isidro, which flows into the Río Tamampaya, which flows to the northeast .

San Agustín is located in the transition area between the Altiplano and the Cordillera Real in the west and the foothills of the Amazon lowlands in the east.
The annual precipitation here in the subtropical Yungas is 1100 mm (see Coroico climate diagram) and has a clear dry season from May to August and a rainy season from December to February. Due to the historical population development in the Municipio Coripata, the Aymara population is predominant, 72.3 percent of the population speak the Aymara language .
