San Pedro is a country town in the Santa Cruz department in the lowlands of the South American Andean state Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
San Pedro is the central place of the district (Bolivian: Municipio ) San Pedro in the province Obispo Santistevan . The city is located at an altitude of 223 m in the wetland between the Río Piraí and Río Grande . The municipality of San Pedro with about 10,000 inhabitants is a colonization area and is used intensively for agriculture.

The municipality of San Pedro is located in the tropical humid climate in front of the eastern edge of the Andes mountain range of the Cordillera Oriental . Due to the immigration of indigenous populations from the Altiplano , which has been promoted by politics since the 1960s , the region has a not inconsiderable proportion of Quechua population, in the municipality of San Pedro 54.9 percent of the population speak the Quechua language.
