The municipality of San Pedro is a district in the Santa Cruz department in the lowlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The municipality of San Pedro is one of five municipalities in the province of Obispo Santistevan . It borders the province of Guarayos to the northeast and north , the province of Ichilo to the northwest , the province of Sara to the southwest , the municipality of Mineros and the municipality of Fernández Alonso to the south, and the province of Ñuflo de Chavez to the southeast . It stretches for about 200 kilometers from northwest to southeast with a mean width of 35 kilometers.

The central place of the municipality is the country town of San Pedro with 4,094 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) on the southwestern edge of the municipality.

The municipality of San Pedro is located in the tropical humid climate in front of the eastern edge of the Andes mountain range of the Cordillera Oriental .
