San Pedro de Bolpebra ( also for short : Bolpebra) is a town in the Pando department in the lowlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia . The name "Bolpebra" is a suitcase word and is made up of the first letters of the three countries Bolivia , Peru and Brazil , which meet directly to the west of the town at the three-country corner.
Location in the vicinity
San Pedro de Bolpebra is the central place of the municipality Bolpebra in the province of Nicolás Suárez and is located at an altitude of 233 m at the mouth of the Río Yaberija in the Río Acre , which flows in its further course over the Rio Purus to the Amazon . The city of Assis Brasil is located north of Bolpebra on Brazilian territory .

San Pedro de Bolpebra is located in the Bolivian part of the Amazon basin , northeast of the foothills of the Peruvian Cordillera Oriental in the tropical rainy climate of the equatorial zone .
The mean average temperature of the region is 25 ° C and fluctuates only insignificantly in the course of the year as well as in the course of the day, only in the dry winter months from June to August it is slightly lower due to the nocturnal heat radiation with open cloud cover (see Bolpebra climate diagram). Transport network
San Pedro de Bolpebra is located two kilometers east of the Peruvian village of Iñapari , with which it is connected by a dirt road. The distance from Cobija, the capital of the department, is 119 km. From Cobija the Ruta 13 leads via Porvenir , Puerto Rico and El Sena to El Triangulo , where there is a connection to the rest of the highway network in Bolivia. About 9 km from Cobija, a dirt road branches off from Ruta 13 to the west, which after 110 km through the dense jungle of the Nicolás Suárez province reaches San Pedro de Bolpebra.
population
The population of the village is low, but has increased slightly over the past decade. It consists mainly of newcomers from the Tarija department and local indigenous people who make a living from collecting Brazil nuts and fishing. Electricity is available 24 hours a day and is obtained from Brazil.
