Sandro Zeller
Sandro Zeller (born November 16, 1991 in Uster ) is a Swiss automobile racing driver . His father is the racing driver Jo Zeller . He started in the European Formula 3 championship in 2013 and 2014 .
Career
Zeller began his motorsport career in 2006 in kart racing , in which he was active until 2007. In 2008 he made his formula racing debut and competed in the Formula Lista junior for his father's racing team, Jo Zeller Racing . He finished his first season in 14th place overall. Another season in the Formula Lista junior followed in 2009, which Zeller concluded with a victory in fifth place in the championship.
After Zeller had made guest starts in the German Formula 3 Cup in 2009 , Zeller took part in this racing series in 2010 with his father's team. He finished 17th overall at the end of the season. He also took part in eight of twelve races in the Austrian Formula 3 championship . He won three races and was third in the overall classification. He also took part in four races in the Formula 3 Euro Series as a guest starter. In 2011 Zeller contested his second season in German Formula 3. Since Zeller completed the final exams of his mechatronics training this year, he only took part in the first three race weekends. In the championship he was in 15th place. He also competed in the Austrian Formula 3 and won it. In addition, he started again as a guest starter in the Formula 3 Euro Series.
In 2012 , Zeller competed for his father's team as a regular driver in the Formula 3 Euro Series. Although he didn't drive in a current vehicle, he beat his teammate Andrea Roda , who had a current vehicle, with 23 to 15 points. He also took part in ten out of fourteen Austrian Formula 3 races. He scored seven victories and stood on the podium in every race. In the overall standings he was defeated by André Rudersdorf with 185 to 212 points and came second. He also made guest starts in the British Formula 3 championship . In 2013 Zeller received a cockpit for the European Formula 3 championship with his father's team . Twelfth place was his best result. In 2014 Zeller competed again for the family racing team in the European Formula 3 championship. This time eleventh place was his best result.
