Architecture and history

The current church, which replaced an older church previously in Jersleben, was built in 1892/1893 in neo-Gothic style. The small hall church was built from brick and has a base made of field stones . There is a 5/8 end to the east , the church tower is on the west side. It is covered with a hipped roof on which there is a ridge turret. The inauguration took place on September 17, 1893 with a festive service held by Pastor Friedrich Danneil .

The open, boarded roof structure rises above the interior of the church . There are decorations made of wrought iron hanging trinkets on arches . There is a rib vault in the choir. The basement of the tower is spanned by a groin vault. On the west side there is a gallery from the construction period . The pulpit was made in the workshop of the wood sculptor Gustav Kuntzsch , Wernigerode . The stalls are also from the construction period.

The church was restored between 1998 and 2000.

In the churchyard south of the church there is a sandstone sarcophagus from the end of the 18th century . In the churchyard wall west of the church tower are several pastor's tombstones from the 18th and 19th centuries.
