Sankt Olof is a place ( Tatort ) in the Swedish province of Skåne län and the historical province of Skåne . He belongs to the Simrishamn community .

Sankt Olof has 666 inhabitants (as of 2015) and is located in the eastern part of Skåne in Österlen .
history
The original name of the village was Lunkende , later it was named after Olav the Saint . On June 7, 1749, the naturalist Carl von Linné and his secretary Olof Söderberg visited the place. In 1901 Sankt Olof got a train station. After the line was closed, the Skånska Järnvägar museum railway was founded, the southern end of which is Sankt Olof.
Sankt Olof holds the meteorological record for the greatest snow depth in Skåne. On March 20, 1942, a snow depth of 100 cm was measured.
In 1954 the municipality of Sankt Olof became part of the municipality of Kivik . Since 1974 the place belongs to the municipality Simrishamn. The population of Sankt Olof was 505 in 1960, rose to 688 in 1990, then fell to 576 in 2000, but has been rising again since then.
The St. Olof Church , which dates back to the 12th century, is located in the village . Not far from here is the Sankt-Olof-Quelle .
Personalities
The Swedish politicians and members of the Swedish Reichstag Johannes Åkesson (1872–1954) and Sten Åkesson (1900–1971) each died in Sankt Olof.
The Swedish big game hunter Andrew Holmberg (* 1918) lives in the village .
