Sant Adrià de Besòs ( Catalan. ) Or San Adrián de Besós ( Spanish ) is a Catalan city in the Barcelona area in Spain and belongs to the metropolitan area Àrea Metropolitana de Barcelona .

Sant Adrià de Besòs lies on both sides of the mouth of the Besòs . The original settlement with the parish church is on the left bank of the river in the north of the municipality. The community itself is a collection of residential and, above all, industrial areas.

There is again a minority government of the Socialist Party (PSC) which has now won the elections for the eleventh time in a row. PP and Junts Per Cataluny are no longer represented by local councils. Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya (ERC) can triple the number of local councils. history
The origins of the city lie in the parish church of Sant Adria, which is mentioned as early as 1012. In 1092 a priory was there convent of Augustinian founded. In 1127 the monastery was moved to Santa Maria de Terrassa . Around this church, west of the Besòs, lies the old town center on a small, 14 meter high hill.
economy
The city's budget in 2019 was 40,760,440 euros. The economic life in Sant Adrià is characterized by service companies, but there is also a diverse manufacturing sector (especially metal processing, chemicals and construction) in mainly medium-sized companies.
