Sante D'Orazio (born January 23, 1956 in Brooklyn , New York ) is an American photographer . He is considered to be one of the best nude photographers of the present and as the successor to Helmut Newton .

Life

Born in New York in 1956, D'Orazio first studied painting and art at Brooklyn College before studying the art of photography with Lou Bernstein . At the beginning of the 80s D'Orazio worked as assistant to Philip Pearlstein , in 1981 he received his first assignment for the Italian fashion magazine Vogue .

From the mid-1980s, D'Orazio became known through exhibitions around the world, especially in Italy , Germany and France . Among other things, he received the Grand Prize of the International Festival of Fashion Photography in 1994 .

Since the mid-1990s, D'Orazio is also active in the movie business and in 1992 at the 49th Film Festival of Venice with the self-made short film Sammy , one homeless , alerted portrayed in New York in coming. After several activities as a director of music and promotional videos, D'Orazio recently completed his first script for a feature film.

He achieved fame primarily for his Playboy recordings of Pamela Anderson and his extremely expressive, often spontaneous, erotic black and white photos of celebrities. His models also included Axl Rose , Heidi Klum , Kate Moss , Prince , Ornella Muti , Mike Tyson and Cindy Crawford .
