Career

Herröder in the VfR Aalen jersey (2011)

Herröder played in his youth at 1. FSV Mainz 05 and SV Darmstadt 98 . For the 2009/10 season he joined Viktoria Aschaffenburg in the Hessenliga , but already switched to SV Elversberg during the winter break , in whose second team he was used. In the winter of 2010 he joined the second team of Eintracht Frankfurt in the Regionalliga Süd.

In July 2010 he moved from there to VfR Aalen in the third division . He made his professional league debut on February 12, 2011, when he came on for Dennis Kempe in the 75th minute in the 3-2 home win against SV Babelsberg 03 . He then remained a substitute and only played once for the full season in his nine appearances. Also in the 2011/12 season he found his way into the team late and was substituted on eight times in the final minutes. Only at the end of the season did Herröder play the last five game days in a row, where he was used as a substitute for the injured or suspended regulars, sometimes on the left side of defense, sometimes in central defense. In the end, Aalen secured second place in the table and was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga. However, Herröder turned down an offer from VfR to extend his contract, which expired in summer 2012.

Instead, he moved to the second division relegated Alemannia Aachen for the 2012/13 season , where he signed a one-year contract until June 30, 2013. After the relegation of Aachen in 2013, he moved to the regional league team Sportfreunde Lotte . From there he went to SpVgg Unterhaching in August 2014 . After Herröder was without a club after the 2014/15 season, he moved to regional league team Wacker Nordhausen on February 1, 2016 . In the 2017/2018 season, Herröder joined FC Viktoria Köln in the Regionalliga West . He left the club but after one season and only one league game and ended his career.
