Sasha Dobson (born March 31, 1979 ) is an American alternative rock and jazz musician ( vocals , guitar ) and songwriter .

Live and act

Dobson is the daughter of jazz musicians Smith and Gail Dobson. She has been working as a singer in the New York music scene since the 1990s; In 2001/02 she recorded her debut album The Darkling Thrush , accompanied by the Chris Byars octet , which was released on the label of the Smalls jazz club . In the following years she also worked as a guitarist and songwriter. The album Modern Romance was produced by Jesse Harris and Richard Julian (with Tony Scherr, among others ). In the formation Puss n Boots she worked with Norah Jones and Cat Popper , with whom the album No Fools, No Fun ( Blue Note Records , 2014) was created. She is currently leading a trio with Zaid Nasser and Neal Miner .
