Saskia Handro

Saskia Handro (born October 23, 1969 in Leipzig ) is a German historian and history teacher .

Career

Saskia Handro studied history , German literature and classical philology from 1988 to 1994 and graduated in 1994 with the first state examination. A study visit to Ohio University in Athens (USA) followed. From 1995 to 1997 she held a PhD scholarship at the history seminar of the University of Leipzig and from 1998 was a research assistant at the professorship for history of didactics. Between 2000 and 2003 she was a research assistant or assistant at the Chair for Modern and Contemporary History and Didactics of History at the University of Dortmund . Her doctorate took place in July 2001 at the University of Leipzig. Since October 2003 she has been junior professor for history didactics at the Ruhr University in Bochum . She represented various chairs of history didactics, for example in the winter semester 2004 in Dortmund and in the winter semester 2005 in Münster. Since the summer semester of 2006 she has held the chair “Didactics of History with Special Consideration of Historical Teaching and Learning Research ” at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster .
