history

Simonyfalva was founded in 1882 by Baron Simonyi. The first settlers were inland settlers and came from different places in Arad County and Banat . Each settler got a house place and could buy as much land as he could afford. In Simonyfalva the Hungarians were always in the majority. The German residents called the place Schimonydorf .

From 1883 to 1920 Simonyfalva belonged to the dual monarchy Austria-Hungary , Kingdom of Hungary , Arad County. After the Banat was divided into three parts on June 4, 1920 as a result of the Treaty of Trianon , Simonyfalva fell to the Kingdom of Romania . Since then, the official name of the village has been Satu Nou .
