Savuto
With the name Savuto DOC , white , rosé and red wines are produced in the Italian provinces of Cosenza and Catanzaro , region of Calabria . The denomination has had the status of a DOC since 1975 , which was updated on March 7, 2014.
Cultivation
According to the denomination, cultivation is permitted in the following communities:
- in the province of Cosenza: Rogliano , Santo Stefano di Rogliano , Marzi , Belsito , Grimaldi , Altilia , Aiello Calabro , Cleto , Serra d'Aiello , Pedivigliano , Malito , Amantea , Scigliano and Carpanzano
- in the province of Catanzaro: Motta Santa Lucia , Martirano Vecchio , Martirano Lombardo , San Mango d'Aquino , Nocera Terinese and Conflenti .

The following grape varieties are required for production :
- Savuto Bianco: 0–40% Montonico , 0–30% Chardonnay , Greco bianco 0–20%, Malvasia bianca 0–10% and a maximum of 45% other white grape varieties that are approved for cultivation in the Calabria region may be added .
- Savuto Rosso and Savuto Rosato: 0–45% Gaglioppo (locally also called "Arvino"), 0–45% Aglianico , 0–10% Greco Nero and / or Nerello Cappuccio (individually or together) and a maximum of 45% other red grape varieties, that are approved for cultivation in the Calabria region may be added.

- Color: light pink, tends to be cherry pink
- Smell: delicate, characteristic
- Taste: dry, tasty, harmonious

- Dry extract: at least 18.0 g / l
Savuto Rosso
- Color: ruby red
- Smell: intense, characteristic
- Taste: dry, full and harmonious
- Alcohol content: at least 12.0 % by volume , for "Superiore" 13.5% by volume
- Acidity : at least 5.0 g / l
- Dry extract: at least 25.0 g / l
