history

Schaltzeit Verlag was founded in 2009 in Berlin. Originally planned to promote entrepreneurship through suitable publications, the focus quickly developed into the field of political caricature. Part of the concept of the publisher is to make daily updated caricatures from newspapers and magazines accessible in the long term through exhibitions, yearbooks and catalogs. The publishing house publishes the yearbooks of the cartoonists Klaus Stuttmann (since 2009) and Heiko Sakurai (since 2012). For the 50th anniversary of the Élysée Treaty between France and Germany in 2013, Schaltzeit Verlag conceived the bilateral exhibition Pas de deux - Pair skating with an accompanying catalog. The exhibition was shown at the same time in the Paris Embassy and in the Foreign Office. Another example is the catalog and exhibition Drôle de peuple! - Strange people! by French star cartoonist Plantu .

Schaltzeit Verlag is based in Wrangelkiez in Berlin-Kreuzberg .
