Heiko Sakurai
Heiko Sakurai (born April 13, 1971 in Recklinghausen ) is a political cartoonist in Germany .
Life
After graduating from high school in 1990 at Petrinum in Recklinghausen , he completed his community service . During this time, Heiko Sakurai, who has a Japanese father, began drawing caricatures for various local editorial offices of the " Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung " WAZ (Essen).
From 1992 to 1998 he studied German, history and politics at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . Here he also held a teaching position for political caricature in 2006/2007. In summer 2008 Heiko Sakurai held a caricature workshop in Tirana for students from Kosovo, Albania and Macedonia.
In 2009, Heiko Sakurai and the author Miriam Hollstein published the political comic "Miss Tschörmänie", the first comic about Chancellor Angela Merkel .
Heiko Sakurai lives and works in Cologne .
