Shanseyit Tuimebayev

Schansejit Qansejituly Tüimebajew ( Kazakh Жансейіт Қансейітұлы Түймебаев , Russian Жансеит Кансеитович Туймебаев Schanseit Kansentowitsch Tuimebajew * 8. July 1958 in Kainar, Kazakh SSR ) is a Kazakh diplomat and politician.

Life

Tüimebajew was born in 1958 in the village of Kainar in Böidibek County in southern Kazakhstan . He graduated in 1980 from the Kazakh State University in Alma-Ata at the Institute for Language and Literature. Another degree was obtained in 2000 from the Russian State Social University in Moscow . In 2008 he obtained a PhD in Philology .

After graduating in 1980, he worked and researched as a lecturer at the Kazakh State University. It was not until 1993 that he got a position in the Kazakh Foreign Ministry , where he headed the Department for the Middle East and Africa . After only a year he was transferred to the field service and came to the Kazakh embassy in Turkey . In 1999 he returned to Kazakhstan to work in the administration of President Nursultan Nazarbayev in the following years, with one interruption in 1999 when he was Consul General in Istanbul . From 2004 to 2006, in addition to his previous activities in the presidential administration, he was also an advisor to the president. On February 1, 2006, Tüimebajew was appointed Kazakh ambassador to Russia . After the resignation of Kazakh Prime Minister Danial Akhmetov in January 2007, he became the new Minister for Education and Science in the cabinet of Kärim Mässimow . He was a member of the Kazakh government for around three years before returning to the diplomatic service in October 2010 and becoming ambassador to Turkey. Since October 7, 2016, Tüimebajew has held the office of Äkim (governor) of the Turkistan region (formerly southern Kazakhstan).
