The Fritillaria Recurva ( Fritillaria recurva ) is a plant from the family of the lily family (Liliaceae).
description
The Fritillaria Recurva is a perennial , herbaceous plant , which is between 30 and 90 centimeters high. The bulbs of these geophytes consist of six large and between 20 and 30 small starchy onion scales.
The leaves are arranged alternately in 1 to 3 whorls of 2 to 5 single leaves . The blades are linear to narrowly lanceolate and between 3 and 15 centimeters long.
The hermaphroditic flowers are nodding and the flower shell is loose. They bloom from March to June. The six ungrown bracts are scarlet, adaxial with yellow, abaxial with purple spots. They are between 1.5 and 3.7 inches long. The nectaries are located on the flower base, they are yellow and narrowly lanceolate. They are up to 1/4 as long as the tepals . The ovary is constantly above, the stylus is considerably branches to 1/4 to 1/2 its length.
The triple capsule fruits are clearly winged in the longitudinal direction.
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 24, 36.

Scarlet fritillaries thrive on dry slopes, in badlands or forests at altitudes between 300 and 2200 meters above sea level.
The distribution area extends in western North America over California , Nevada and Oregon .
