The Scheinberg is 498  m above sea level. NHN the highest mountain in the Steigerwald . It is located northeast of Ippesheim in the Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim district in Middle Franconia . The border with the Lower Franconian district of Kitzingen runs north .

Geographical location

The mountain is located in the southwestern part of the Steigerwald and, like the Schwanberg , protrudes from the upstream Main Franconia. As a result, the mountain, which is completely covered with forest, looks very striking, especially from the west side. The wine village of Weigenheim lies at the foot of the mountain .

Attractions

Near the summit plateau, on a terrace on the slope, is a small forest lake with the grave of Karl Friedrich von Pöllnitz-Frankenberg (1758–1826), the second lord of the Frankenberg Castle a few 100 meters away .
