Schinditz is a district of the city of Dornburg-Camburg .

geography

The place is about 1.5 km northeast of Camburg on the road to Naumburg . The Schinditzbach flows through the village in a small side valley and flows into the Saale at Tümpling as a right tributary .

history

The place was first mentioned in documents in 1378. As early as 1414, the city of Camburg named Schinditz as a Vorwerk and Rittergut. The estate strongly influenced the development of the village. Schinditz belonged to the Wettin office of Camburg , which, due to several divisions during its existence, belonged to various Ernestine duchies . In 1826, the place came as part of the Camburg exclave from the Duchy of Saxony-Gotha-Altenburg to the Duchy of Saxony-Meiningen . From 1922 to 1939 Schinditz belonged to the Camburg district department .

The oldest surviving directory of the town's inhabitants goes back to the first third of the 15th century. The local dairy was the largest employer after the estate. In 1965 the dairy business was shut down and pet food was produced. After the Second World War , the property was expropriated and divided between farmers and resettlers. Later, a study project group from the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena undertook fruit-growing experiments with farmers. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, the investor developed the animal feed factory into a feed factory.
