The Schleinzbach flows into the Schmida (from left) |
The Schleinzbach is a body of water in Lower Austria that forms one of the tributaries to the Schmida .
course
The headwaters of the Schleinzbach are located on the western outskirts of Gumping, a village in the eastern Waldviertel in the municipality of Maissau . Today the spring drains into a well, which is used to supply drinking water, so that the stream bed is drained for the first few hundred meters and only carries water after it has rained.
The stream, which initially bears the name “Schleinitz”, soon after its source northwest of Gumping has a tributary through another small stream and flows through the “Schleinitzbach lowlands nature reserve”.
From there it changes its course to the northeast and, after it has crossed under the L1235, forms the southern boundary of the natural monument "Wiesenparzelle".
After being fed by other tributaries, the Schleinitzbach reaches the local area of Burgschleinitz , where it joins the Brunnwiesenbach.
Now the course changes to the southeast and after further inflows the brook becomes the "Schleinzbach" about halfway between Burgschleinitz and Limberg . This flows through the built-up area of Limberg, where it enters the western Weinviertel and continues eastwards to Niederschleinz . Here, too, it flows through the built-up area, changes direction to the southeast and, after taking up another tributary, the Schleinzbach flows north of Frauendorf into the Schmida.
