history

Little is known about the early history of Hasperde Castle. In the course of history the von Lenthe and the von Eddingerode had property rights here. In addition, the families of Hammerstein-Equord and from 1675 the barons of Kipe are proven. Through the marriage of Amalie Ernestine von Kipe (1748-1825) with Baron Adolf Christoph von Hake auf Diedersen , who later became a general of the infantry, the property came to this family. Her son, Chief Forester Christoph Friedrich VI. Freiherr von Hake, had the palace gardens laid out.

Otto Freiherr von Hake had the three-storey mansion with two lower wings rebuilt in the historicizing style by the Hanoverian architect August Lingemann from 1883 to 1893 . This resulted in a three-wing complex in the neo-renaissance style with turrets and small houses . His daughter-in-law Marie Freifrau von Hake, b. Baroness von Brentano , raised her children as Catholics and therefore built a castle chapel in which the first Holy Mass was celebrated in 1896. Under canon law it received the status of a chaplain and was subordinate to the parish of St. Clemens in Hanover. The palace chapel acted as a Catholic mission station in the area between Hanover and Hameln.

The mausoleum, also built by Otto von Hake from 1881 to 1884, is located on the southern edge of the park. It is a polygonal central building with an open ring hall. The wide flight of stairs gives the building a monumental appearance.

The castle was sold in 1943. Initially, refugees found accommodation in it, then the Reichsbahn and Bundesbahn school moved in and finally a retirement home. The manor was inherited by Count Adelmann von Adelmannsfelden , who still manage it and live in a mansion newly built in 1952 by the Pyrmont architect Eugen Kube.
