Ismaninger Palace Park

The lock Ismaning is listed park in the center of Ismaning ( Upper Bavaria ) (Docket No. D-1-84-130-18).

After the Baroque redesign of Ismaning Palace was completed, the park was initially laid out as a riding school garden by the Munich gardener Georg Glas in 1727/28. It surrounds the castle on the western, southern and eastern sides.

On the western edge of the park, the Ismaning Palace Pavilion was built in 1727 under the direction of the Bavarian court architect François de Cuvilliés . In 1756/57 statues by the sculptor Ignaz Günther were placed in the park . These figures are no longer available today. Around 1816/17 the palace park was redesigned to a landscape garden in the English style .

In 1983 the classical orangery built in the northwestern part of the complex was demolished. In the early 1990s, a modern museum building was built in its place, which is based on the appearance of the orangery. The Kallmann Museum opened there in 1992 .

Only the original western part of the park's original enclosure has been preserved.
