Milestone on the Freisinger Straße in Ismaning
The kilometer stone on Freisinger Straße is a listed road stone in the municipality of Ismaning ( Upper Bavaria ) (file number D-1-84-130-2). It was set up around 1900 north of the village on the connecting road to Freising (on the corner of Freisingerstraße - Am Griesacker).
Two distances are carved into the approximately 140 centimeter high stone from Nagelfluh : on the side facing travelers from the north, 15 to Munich , and on the south-facing side 20.5 to Freising . Points of reference in both cities are the New Town Hall in Munich and Marienplatz in Freising.
At the beginning of the 20th century, the Freisinger Landstrasse was the only road connection on the right bank of the Isar . The milestone was erected far outside the village. Due to the expansion of the settlement area, it is now on the northern approach road from Ismaning on the edge of an industrial park.
