Water tower (Ismaning)
The Ismaning water tower is an industrial monument of the Ismaning municipality ( Upper Bavaria ). It is 36 meters high and stands on the southern outskirts, on the corner of Münchener Strasse and Wasserturmstrasse.
The tower was built in 1913 as part of the construction of a municipal water supply initiated by Mayor Georg Kraus . The town's community assembly decided on December 24, 1911 to build the water tower.
Until the mid-1960s, it covered the community's entire water needs. A second groundwater works was not built until 1966. After the construction of another waterworks, the tower was taken out of service in 1983.
Members of the German Amateur Radio Club have been using the tower as a radio station since 1978 . A painter's studio is housed inside the building.
