The Schmiedlaine is a tributary of the Lainbach in the municipality of Benediktbeuern in the Bavarian district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen . The stream rises on the lower slope of the glass wall , the neighboring mountain to the west of the Benediktenwand , and runs with a length of less than 5 km in a predominantly northerly direction.

The 25 m high Lainbach Falls lie on it . There the Schmiedlaine falls over two steps, opening up a remarkable formation of Raibler layers . The location is therefore classified as a valuable geotope by the Bavarian State Office for the Environment .

These waterfalls are not to be confused with the far located Lainbachfällen of another, even Laing ravens called Lainbachs in the municipality of Kochel am See , which drains through the Kochelsee in the Loisach.

Wood used to be drifted on the Schmiedlaine .
