The School Biology Center Hannover is a regional environmental education center with headquarters in the Burg district in Hannover . It is supported by the state capital Hanover and (through teacher delegation hours) by the state of Lower Saxony . Other locations are the botanical school garden in Linden-Mitte and the Burg open-air school in Hanover.

Structure and target groups

The facility is divided into three departments:

  • Botanical School Garden Burg (also headquarters)
  • Burg open-air school
  • Botanical School Garden Linden ( Lage ), created in 1920 in a clay pit on Lindener Berg . There are lessons in and about the garden. School classes have their own parcels. There is Hanover's only vineyard on a slope.

In addition to a variety of courses for school children, there are teacher training courses and Sunday programs for parents with their children. These are used every year by thousands of visitors from school classes, kindergartens, study seminars, student groups and others.
