The scaly dumpling ( Leratiomyces squamosus , syn .: Stropharia squamosa , Hypholoma squamosa, Psilocybe squamosa ) is a species of fungus from the genus Leratiomyces .
features
The Scaly Trüsselling forms relatively small fruiting bodies with a hat and stem. The yellowish to ocher-colored hat on top is 2–5 cm wide, the crown is often fox-colored, a shape with an orange-brownish hat color has been described as the variety thrausta. The hat is initially hemispherical, it becomes convex with increasing maturity of the fruiting body and is flat in old specimens. The surface of the hat is sticky and covered with delicate, finely divided flakes. The stem becomes 6–11 cm long and 4–9 mm thick, it is rigid, elastic and hollow. At the ring zone it is often kinked, above the membranous, deep-seated ring the stalk is whitish to light brownish, below it is covered with whitish scales on a brown background. The lamellae are broadly attached to the stem, light gray-brown when young, dark purple-brown when ripe and often piebald.
ecology
The Scaly Trüsselling lives saprobion on wood and wood residues, it colonizes hardwood and therefore occurs mainly in deciduous forests, in addition it grows in parks on areas covered with wood waste. The species prefers neutral to alkaline soils. The fruiting bodies appear in Central Europe in autumn.
distribution
The Scaly Trüsselling occurs in Japan, North America, North Africa and Europe. In Europe, its distribution extends from the Mediterranean region and Ukraine to Great Britain, the Hebrides, Estonia and Scandinavia (to Lapland). It is widespread in Germany, but can be rare in some areas.
Systematics
The Schuppige Trüsselling used to be sold in many different genera. So he stood z. B. already in the genera of the Trümmlinge ( Stropharia ), the sulfur heads ( Hypholoma ) and also in the genera Geophila , Psilocybe and Stropholoma . Through genetic studies it was finally shown that the scaly dumpling belongs to the genus Leratiomyces .
meaning
The scaly dinosaur is suspicious of poison.
