geography

course

The Schwanderbach rises in the rocky-grassy massif between the Brienzer Rothorn and Eissee Sattel . Unlike the more dangerous Lammbach or Glyssibach , it flows more slowly into the depths and has a catchment area in which the soil can easily absorb the water. It then flows through the Brienzer Forst to the village of the same name Schwanden b. Brienz. There flows next to the village and also passes the Schwanderbädli , where part of its water is drained. The part of the stream in the Oberschwanden area is a popular place to linger in summer. It flows on towards Unterschwanden, where it finally flows into the only slightly larger Lammbach just before Brienz .

Catchment area

The catchment area of the Schwanderbach is 4.02 km² and consists of 50.9% wooded area , 12.4% agricultural area , 6.3% settlement area , 1.6% water area and 28.8% from unproductive areas

The mean height of the catchment area is 1305  m above sea level. M. , the minimum height is 579  m above sea level. M. and the maximum height at 2341  m above sea level. M.
