The 2011/12 Swiss Football Championship is the 42nd season in women's football.
Ten teams take part in the National League A , with the championship being divided into two parts: A qualifying round (18 games) and a final round (8 clubs, 7 games) or barrage with the last two clubs of the NLA and the first two clubs of the NLB.
The defending champion is BSC Young Boys . The FC Thun and the FFC Zuchwil 05 rose in the National League B off the FFC Zuchwil 05 but withdrew in December 2011 from the NLB back and stopped the operation of gambling. The newcomers are SC Schwyz and FC Schlieren.
In the National League B participate only 9 teams after the withdrawal of Zuchwil. The championship is divided into a qualifying round (16 games) and a barrage or relegation round (7 clubs, 6 games).
FC Münsterlingen, FC Rapperswil-Jona and FC Therwil are relegated . FC Luzern Frauen , FC Neunkirch and CS Chênois rose from the first division .
