The Schwollbach rises in the Idarwald near Schwollen near the Erbeskopf at approx. 620 m above sea level. NN. It is 14.5 km long and flows into the Nahe in Kronweiler .
Flora and fauna
The Schwollbach initially flows through the Idarwald, later through extensively used valley meadows. Willows and alders are mainly found on the bank , which are hardly used economically today.
Gray herons and mallards are the most common water birds in the Bachtal, and the dipper and kingfisher also have their habitat on the fast-flowing water.
