Sciuro-hypnum is a genus of deciduous moss in the Brachytheciaceae family .
features
The genus Sciuro-Hypnum was separated from the genus Brachythecium by Ignatov & Huttunen (2002) . Sciuro hypnum species differ from Brachythecium species in that the plants are usually smaller in size. They have a papillary seta and carry (with the exception of S. latifolium and S. flotowianum ) antheridia and archegonia on different branches of the same plant ( autocratic ).
