SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment (until 2009 Busch Entertainment Corporation, BEC for short ) is an amusement and theme park operator based in Orlando , Florida , USA .
history
SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment is responsible for the management and maintenance of twelve leisure , adventure and water parks in the United States . The company was founded in the late 1950s with the intention of operating all of the Busch Gardens parks from one central administrative unit. The company's headquarters were in St. Louis in the US state of Missouri until 2008 , and in the summer of 2008 the company headquarters was relocated to Orlando , Florida . In 2009 the company was sold by the Anheuser-Busch InBev group to the Blackstone Group .
The theme areas of the theme parks include both rides and attractions with animals. For example, marine animals or wild animals are shown there . The amusement parks are essentially divided into three categories. These include Busch Gardens , SeaWorld and water parks. On February 28, 2008, the company announced that it plans to build an amusement park with SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, Discovery Cove and Aquatica in Dubai by 2012 . However, due to the financial crisis, the plans were suspended until further notice.
SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment is the ninth largest amusement and theme park operator worldwide with around 20.8 million visitors in the 2017 season.
