Searcy is a town in White County in the US -amerikanischen State Arkansas with 19,900 inhabitants ( 2004 ) and is the county seat . The urban area has a size of 38.1 km². In the city there is the Harding University .
history
On August 9, 1965 there was an accident near Little Rock Air Force Base and the city during the Cold War in a silo (Launch Complex 373-4) equipped with an LGM-25C Titan II ICBM. During maintenance work, an outbreak of fire kills 53 people.
