Sebastião Lima Duarte

Sebastião Lima Duarte (born April 3, 1964 in Carutapera ) is a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Caxias do Maranhão .

Life

Sebastião Lima Duarte was ordained a priest on November 30, 1991 . In 1998 he obtained a licentiate in theology in Rome . In the diocese of Zé Doca , Lima initially worked as a pastor at the cathedral before he became, among other things, diocesan coordinator for pastoral care and rector of the seminary. Before being appointed bishop, he was vicar general of the diocese of Zé Doca.

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Bishop of Viana on July 7, 2010 . The Bishop of Zé Doca, Carlo Ellena , ordained him episcopal on September 18 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Xavier Gilles de Maupeou d'Ableiges , Former Bishop of Viana, and José Belisário da Silva OFM , Archbishop of São Luís do Maranhão . The inauguration in the diocese of Viana took place on September 25 of the same year.

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Caxias do Maranhão on December 20, 2017.
