Carlo Ellena

Carlo Ellena (born March 28, 1938 in Valperga ) is an Italian clergyman and emeritus bishop of Zé Doca .

Life

Carlo Ellena was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Turin on March 27, 1965 . In 1974 he went to Brazil as a Fidei Donum priest, to what was then the prelature of Cândido Mendes .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Zé Doca on February 18, 2004. The Archbishop of Turin, Cardinal Severino Poletto , donated him episcopal ordination on June 12 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Paulo Eduardo Andrade Ponte , Archbishop of São Luís do Maranhão , Affonso Felippe Gregory , Bishop of Imperatriz , Walmir Alberto Valle IMC , Old Bishop of Zé Doca, and Luís d'Andrea OFMConv , Bishop of Caxias do Maranhão .

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on July 23, 2014.
