Sebastian Kneißl (born January 13, 1983 in Lindenfels ) is a former German soccer player .

life and career

The first club of his childhood was the KSG Mitlechtern . He then came to Eintracht Frankfurt in 1998 via FC Bensheim . By this time he had already played several games for the U-15 national team and had successfully switched to the U-18 team. At that time he was considered one of the most promising young talents.

In 2000 he moved from Frankfurt to London for Chelsea FC . But when Roman Abramowitsch took over the club , many international stars were bought, so that Kneißl was no longer considered.

In early 2004 he was loaned to FC Dundee in Scotland , where he played eleven championship games in the spring and scored one goal (against Celtic Glasgow ). In the summer of 2004 he was loaned again, this time to the Belgian club VC Westerlo . However, this time he failed to score in ten games. In the summer of 2005 he moved from Chelsea to Salzach to Wacker Burghausen , where he scored four goals in a total of 31 games. During the 2006/07 winter break, he moved to the regional division Fortuna Düsseldorf on a free transfer . There he had a contract until the end of the season, with the option of an extension for another year by the club, which, however, was not exercised. After a short interlude at Wivenhoe Town , he went to the new season for Bayern league team SpVgg Weiden . In January 2009 he moved to 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 in the North Season of the Bavarian State League (sixth highest German division). In addition to football, he completed an apprenticeship as a wholesale and foreign trade clerk with the main sponsor of Schweinfurt, in order to then get his coaching license, and worked for the club as a coach of the Schweinfurt B-youth. After four and a half years in Schweinfurt, during which he was promoted to the Bayernliga with them and became champion of the Bayernliga 2013 , he announced his move to SV Heimstetten in the summer of 2013 with the regional league promotion he had achieved . He played 13 games for Heimstetten in the 2013/14 season and scored three goals before announcing his retirement due to a sports disability .

In the summer of 2007 Kneißl interrupted his football career for a year and worked as a street worker in London. Back then he organized soccer training for children from socially disadvantaged areas.
