Sebastiano Fraghì

Sebastiano Fraghì (born July 12, 1903 in Ozieri , Sassari Province , Italy , † July 22, 1985 in Oristano ) was Archbishop of Oristano .

Life

Fraghì studied at the seminaries of Ozieri , Sassari and Cuglieri. He was ordained a priest on July 29, 1928 . After he received his doctorate theologiae , he worked at the Holy Office .

Pope Pius XII appointed him Archbishop of Oristano on September 23, 1947. The episcopal ordination donated him on December 8 of the same year Francesco Cogoni , Bishop of Ozieri; Co- consecrators were Lorenzo Maria Balconi , Apostolic Vicar Emeritus of Hanzhong , and Nicolò Frazioli , Bishop of Bosa . In 1961 a diocesan synod took place in Oristano under Fraghis leadership. From 1962 to 1965 he participated as a council father at the Second Vatican Council .

Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation on December 14, 1978. Sebastiano Fraghì died in 1985, shortly after his 82nd birthday.
