The Seehorn ( 2281 m above sea level , called "Seehore" by locals and on the maps of Swisstopo ) is located in the rear part of the Diemtig Valley , in the Bernese Pre-Alps in the Swiss canton of Bern . The limestone rocks drop off steeply to the east and south. The north and west slopes are easy to walk on. From the mountain restaurant Seeberg is a path, first through cattle pastures, then through a sparse mountain forest with stone pines , firs and spruces , and finally over rugged limestone m to the summit at the 2281st ü. M. (In 2010, however, the trail markings were heavily bleached. The trail was not easy to find in lush vegetation.) The summit of the Seehorn offers a beautiful panoramic view of the Bernese Alps , the Niesenkette , the Spillgerten , the Gantrischkette , the Stockhorn and the Seebergsee.
