Sehnsucht (working title: Bajazzo ) is a German film drama from 1921 based on the manuscript The Never Kissed Mouth by Carl Heinz Járosy .

The Russian student Iwan lives - impoverished - in Switzerland. Then he was unexpectedly invited to Russia by a distant relative, Princess Wirsky. To finance the trip, he hires himself as a messenger for revolutionaries who want to oust Grand Duke Wirsky. In Moscow he delivers the news and falls in love with the revolutionary's daughter, Marja. But Marja's father loves Princess Wirsky and wants to betray the revolutionaries. But since the princess falls in love with Ivan, she has Marja deported to Siberia out of jealousy. Ivan strangles the princess in revenge. He spends the rest of his life longing for Marja, whom he has never kissed. One day when he receives news of Marja's death, he commits suicide.

The film was produced by Mosch-Film Richard Mosch Berlin and Lipow-Film Berlin. The costumes were designed by Charles Drecoll , the buildings by Robert Neppach . The film had a length of five acts at 1,765 meters, which corresponds to about 77 minutes. On October 18, 1920, the censors imposed a youth ban on him (B. 597). The German premiere was in February 1921. The film is considered lost .
