Since ( Italian name: La Costa ) is a fraction of the municipality of Laives in South Tyrol . The village lies to the east above the Etschtal or Unterland at about 850 m above sea level. It is located around five kilometers northeast of Steinmannwald on the slopes of the Regglberg and Kohlerer Berg.

Surname

The place name is mentioned in 1664 as on Seit and 1704 as Seith and means "dry meadow area". The older place name is Fasseit, which is documented as early as 1321 with Perchtoldus de Vasseit .

history

Noteworthy is the parish church of Blessed Heinrich von Bozen , which was built in 1824 and renovated in 1853/54 thanks to a foundation by the Bozen magistrate Josef Rößler.

Older farms on Seit are Weingartner, Köhl, Fritsch, Rechtebner, Altebner and Alpler.
