Selector Infected Wixoss (pronounced wi-cross , short for "Wish Across") is an anime series produced by JCStaff . The first season was broadcast from April to June 2014, the second season, called selector spread WIXOSS , from October to December 2014.

action

Ruuko Kominato just moved to Tokyo. Since she has not yet made friends at her school, Ayumu, her older brother, gives her a starter set for the card game WIXOSS, in which the players compete against others with their game avatars, so-called LRIGs ( ル リ グ , Rurigu ). She finds that her LRIG can speak. Yuzuki Kurebayashi explains to her that she is a so-called selector who fight against other selectors. If you win enough times, you will be able to become the Eternal Girl and make a wish come true.

The series is animated by Studio JCStaff under the direction of Takuya Satō, the framework story by Mari Okada and the character design by Kyūta Sakai. The first season with 12 episodes, Selector Infected Wixoss , was broadcast from April 4 to June 20, 2014 after midnight (and thus on the previous TV day ) on MBS , and with a few days offset also on Tokyo MX , TV Aichi , AT- X and BS11 . The second season, Selector Spread Wixoss , with a further 12 episodes ran from October 4 to December 20, 2014 after midnight first on Tokyo MX, as well as with an offset on the other channels.

Funimation streamed it as a simulcast with English subtitles in North America, Crunchyroll in Africa, the Middle East and Europe excluding the German-speaking area, where it was licensed by Kazé Germany .

The background music for the series comes from Maiko Iuchi. The first season used killy killy JOKER sung by Kanon Wakeshima in the opening credits and realize - Yume no Matsu Basho (realize - 夢 の 待 つ 場所 - ) sung by Cyua , in episode 11 a variant called White Hope mix . The second season used in the opening credits world's end, girl's rondo by Kanon Wakeshima and in the credits Undo - Asu e no Kioku (Undo - 明日 へ の 記憶 - ) by Cyua, as well as the variant Black Desire mix in the last episode .

Manga

Several manga series were created for the anime . The Manga series selector infected WIXOSS -blue appli- drawn by Manatsu Suzuki appeared in the Ultra Jump magazine of the Shūeisha publishing house between July 19, 2014 (issue 8/2014) and May 19, 2015 (issue 6/2015) . The chapters were also published in two anthologies ( Tankōbon ) under the title selector infected WIXOSS -peeping analyze- . Since July 18, 2015 (issue 8/2015) the manga selector infected WIXOSS - Mayu no Oheya (selector infected WIXOSS, 〜 ま ゆ の お へ や 〜 ) drawn by nini has been published in the same magazine .

In Square Enix 'magazine Big Gangan the series appeared Selector Infected WIXOSS -Re / verse- between 25 August 2014 (Vol. 10/2014) and 24 October which was drawn by Mekimeki 2015 (Vol. 11/2015). The chapters have also been summarized in two edited volumes.

In 2016, Lostorage incited WIXOSS was created , another season of the series, which tells the story of childhood friends Suzuko Homura and Chinatsu Morikawa, who are caught in a new kind of Wixoss fight and only loosely builds on their predecessors. Like the previous seasons, the 12-part series was produced by Studio JCStaff and distributed in Germany via the simulcast provider Crunchyroll.

Shortly after the end of the series, a new project called Lostorage conflated WIXOSS was announced via the official Twitter account . This is an OVA with the subtitle missing link , which will be released on December 14 , and which is to be followed by a new TV season in 2018.
