Schiltach transmitter

The Schiltach transmitter is a VHF full transmitter of the Südwestrundfunk (formerly the Südwestfunk ) on the Simonsberg, southeast of Schiltach in the Black Forest . The Schiltach transmitter went into operation on November 11, 1970 as a television converter and originally used a 42.5 meter high spun concrete mast as the antenna carrier. In 1998 this was replaced by today's 52.1 meter high precast concrete tower. The transmitter closes a reception gap in the Kinzig valley near Schiltach.
