The Seniebach is an orographic right or southern tributary of the Ihme in the area of the cities of Hemmingen and Hanover in the Hanover region in Lower Saxony ( Germany ), about 4 kilometers long .

geography

The Seniebach arises in the Wilkenburg district of Hemmingen when crossing under Wülfeler Straße by definition from the Bruchgraben . This drains a pond area southeast of Wilkenburg.

The Seniebach flows in the Leinemasch in a north-northwest direction. It forms the eastern edge of the Hemmingen district and passes the Hemmingen gravel pit to the west in the landscape interspersed with pebbles . It once flowed around the Klein-Hemmingen desert north of today 's Hemmingen . It flows into the southern end of the Großer Hemminger Teich , created during gravel mining , at the northern end of which it flows into the southern end of the Großer Ricklinger Teich , whose water surface is crossed by the Südschnellweg . The Seniebach forms the outflow in the northwest of the Great Ricklinger Pond and flows into the Ihme shortly afterwards east of the Hanoverian district of Ricklingen .

environment

The Seniebach flows almost along its entire length in protected landscape areas . In the Hemminger area this is the landscape protection area LSG-H 21 - Obere Leine and in Hanover area the LSG-HS 4 - Obere Leine .

Sights and buildings

The Südschnellweg crosses the Ricklinger pond on the Leine flood bridge. The for the frequent in previous years leash flood- designed building from the 1960s, is now in need of renovation.

The Maschsee is fed with water from the Great Ricklinger Pond by pumps. This makes the Seniebach, which flows through this stream, the source of the artificial water body, which is about 2.7 m higher.
