Senzenberg is a hamlet in the upper Bühler valley in the Ellwang Mountains , which belongs to the Heilberg residential area of the Bühlerzell municipality in the Schwäbisch Hall district of northeast Baden-Württemberg .

Geographical location

Senzenberg is located about two and a half kilometers south-southeast of the municipality's main town, Bühlerzell, as the crow flies, at the tributary of the right Gruppenbach into the Bühler, which runs from here to Bühlerzell, on the right side of the river and thus just in the natural area of the Ellwang Mountains , while the Sulzbacher Forest begins opposite . At Senzenberg, the Bühler leaves its forest valley and now moves in its further upper and middle reaches mostly under open valley slopes.

The valley floor, filled with alluvial sediment, and the valley slopes lie in the lower colored marls ( Steigerwald formation ), while the silica sandstone ( Hassberge formation ) covers the edge heights, both layers of the upper Mittelkeuper .

The next places, all of which also belong to Bühlerzell, are the brick mill , which is very close to the east in the lower Gruppenbachtal; the hamlet of Spitzenberg to the south-east, the hamlet of Gerabronn and the residential area Stockhäusle to the south-west, all three on the opposite hills of the Bühlertal; northwest and down the river Buehler is the hamlet of Heilberg of the municipality, with probably over 100 inhabitants (2017) by far the largest of all neighboring towns; as well as the Roßberg residential area to the north . The closest medium-sized towns are the district town of Schwäbisch Hall about 20 km to the northwest and the town of Ellwangen about 16 km to the east (both as the crow flies ).

description

Senzenberg comprises a total of four farm sites in a loose association to the right of the Bühler, three of them in the floodplain before and after the approaching group stream at heights between 395  m above sea level. NHN and 400  m above sea level NHN ; the fourth and largest occupies the top of the downward Gruppenbach estuary, its tallest building stands at about 445  m above sea level. NHN . Below this largest homestead there is a Chapel of Our Lady on the slope . In total there are just under a dozen house and secondary numbers, plus other agricultural buildings.

history

In 1368 five twelfths of the tithe of Senzenberg went to the then order from the monastery Ellwangen mortgaged Adelmann of Adelmannsfelden . The sale of a mill by a citizen of Hall is documented for 1442 . In 1733 there were apparently two mills on site (perhaps including the brick mill mentioned in the immediate vicinity), four (full) farmers and one mercenary (small farmers). On a historical map from 1851, only 3 settlements can be identified, plus the brick mill. For 1886 a population of 69 is given.

traffic

The L 1072 runs past the three farms on its bottom through the Bühlertal coming from Pommertsweiler down to Bühlertann, down the left slope of the Gruppenbach valley , which tapers from the northeast, it meets a connecting road from Schönbronn at the first farm ; both are also cycle paths. The courtyard on the spur is accessed by a branch path further downwards over a serpentine. The closest connections to the motorway network are around 25 kilometers from the road in the east, beyond Ellwangen near Neunheim, on the A 7 and even further away in the northwest, beyond Schwäbisch Hall near Kupferzell, on the A 6 . In the same directions, the Ellwangen train station on the Upper Jagstbahn and in Schwäbisch Hall-Hessental the railway station on the Crailsheim – Heilbronn railway and the Schwäbisch Hall-Hessental – Waiblingen railway are a little closer ; the latter can also be reached in Gaildorf in the west after only about 20 kilometers.
