Serena Grandi (actually Serena Faggioli , born March 23, 1958 in Bologna ) is an Italian actress who was primarily cast in erotic films at the beginning of her career .

Life

Serena Grandi was born the daughter of a police officer . Grandi is her mother's maiden name. After finishing school, Grandi first trained as a programmer and worked in a computer company. She then took dance classes and took courses in speech education and English. In the late 1970s, Grandi went to Rome with a desire to become an actress.

In the early years of her career (1979-1984) Grandi received almost exclusively supporting roles and tiny roles in some rather insignificant films. She played, also under the pseudonym Vanessa Steiger , in comedies and horror films. In 1980 she played (as Vanessa Steiger ) in the Italian horror film Man-Eater by Joe D'Amato as the young wife Maggie , who is the victim of a cannibal monster.

In 1985 she achieved her breakthrough through her participation in the erotic film Miranda by Tinto Brass . In the following years Grandi was seen in numerous Italian erotic films and soft porn . Grandi especially attracted attention with her ample bust and her voluminous body. Director Tinto Brass's preferences for the luscious forms of his actresses outweighed acting skills. In 1986 she played the lead female role in the soft porno Giulia . She played as "Giulia" a photo model and a femme fatale who seduces a young writer and has sexual adventures with numerous other men. In Angelina Desires of All (1986), she was a sexually frustrated wife and aerobics teacher who got involved in affairs with other men until she finally realizes that she really only loves her husband.

In 1987 she starred in the comedy Teresa, directed by Dino Risi . With the beginning of the 1990s she also worked increasingly for Italian television and now took on mother roles. Grandi was only rarely given the opportunity to play "serious" roles. An exception was the 1993 TV movie Donna d'onore , in which Grandi also demonstrated her skills as an actress. In 1998 she shot again with Tinto Brass. In his comedy film Monella she played the role of Zaira . From the end of the 1990s, Grandi initially largely withdrew from film.

In 2003, Grandi hit the headlines again when she was arrested for possession of drugs and cocaine . However, the charges were later dropped. In 2004 she took part in the Italian reality show Il ristorante . In March 2006 she published her first novel entitled L'amante del federale .

After a break of more than ten years, she returned to the big screen in 2008 and starred in the drama Il papà di Giovanna by Pupi Avati . She was also featured in the 2008 Italian mini-series Una madre , which aired on Rai Uno .

Grandi is married to Beppe Ercole, with whom she has a son.
