Rai 1 (until May 2010 Rai Uno ) is the most popular television channel of the Italian public broadcaster Radiotelevisione Italiana (RAI).

It is the most important Italian television channel, comparable to the first program of ARD in Germany , TF1 in France , TVP1 in Poland or ORF 1 in Austria . Rai 1 can be received unencrypted in Europe and parts of North Africa, it broadcasts digitally via the Hot Bird 2 satellite and is also often fed into cable networks in Germany, Austria and Switzerland .
