Ti lascio una canzone (Italian for "I'll leave / leave you a song") was an Italian talent show for children on the TV channel Rai 1 . The show was broadcast from 2008 and discontinued in 2015. The moderator was Antonella Clerici . In 2015, the show also served to select the Italian representative at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest .

Creation and concept

The show was developed by Roberto Cenci . The focus is not on competing performers, but on the songs, which are mostly classics of Italian pop music. These are performed by the participating children between the ages of eight and 17, accompanied by an orchestra. A jury of experts judged the performances, while the television audience could vote on the best song by means of televoting .

From the show, u. a. Il Volo , who later represented Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 , as well as Gaia Cauchi and Vincenzo Cantiello , winners of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013 and 2014 respectively .

The Ti lascio una canzone format was also exported to Portugal , where it was first broadcast on the private broadcaster TVI in 2008 under the title Uma cancão para ti . Turkey followed in 2009 , where the show started under the title Bir Şarkısın Sen ; it started in Mexico in 2012 under the title La Academia Kids .
