Syarhey Michailawitsch Ruzewitsch ( Belarusian Сяргей Міхайлавіч Руцэвіч , Russian Сергей Михайлович Руцевич * 20 August 1988 in Lahojsk the same Rajon the Minsk Region , then the Soviet Union ) is a Belarusian biathlete .

Sjarhej Ruzewitsch, who lives in his native Lahojsk, started biathlon in 1999 and is now starting for the Belarusian biathlon club . He made his international debut as part of the Junior World Championships 2007 in Martell , where he was 30th of the individual and just missed a medal with the relay as fourth. This was followed by participation in the junior competitions of the Summer Biathlon World Championships 2008 in Haute-Maurienne in the competitions on roller skis . In the sprint he ran to 22nd place and was in the following pursuit race 19th. The final breakthrough came in 2009. First he won the bronze medal in the relay race with Uladsimir Tschapelin , Wital Zwetau and Vladimir Alenishko at the Junior World Championships in Canmore . Also at the Junior Biathlon European Championships 2009 in Ufa he won relay bronze with a relay in the same line-up. In addition, Ruzewitsch was 22nd in the individual, 15th in the sprint and 12th in the pursuit. The third international championship was the 2009 Summer Biathlon World Championships , in whose junior competitions on roller skis the Belarusian came seventh in the sprint and tenth in the pursuit. With Karina Sawossik , Ala Talkach and Tschapelin, he also won the silver medal in mixed behind the Russian team.

In Idre , Ruzewitsch competed in a sprint at the start of the 2009/10 season, his first race in the IBU Cup , in which he was 86th. A little later he won points for the first time in Ridnaun as the 39th in a sprint. It remained his best result in this racing series so far. The end of the snow season was the 2010 Military World Ski Championships in Brusson , where he was 46th in the sprint. The Belarusian took part in the 2010 Summer Biathlon World Championships in Duszniki-Zdrój . In the sprint he finished 16th and reached 12th place in the pursuit race based on it.
